How do I know if Hitchcock Family Medicine is right for me?

Please email or call us to schedule your free Meet and Greet today!

I have insurance. Can I still become a member of your practice?

Absolutely! While we do not accept insurance in our office for our services, we strongly encourage all of our patients to still have insurance for things outside of us, such as specialists and hospital stays.

I have lots of health problems, will you charge me more?

No. Our monthly fees are strictly based on age.

Do you provide vaccines?

Aside from the annual influenza vaccine and adult Tdap booster, we do not carry vaccines in our office. The most cost-effective place to get childhood vaccines is the TN Health Department.

How do I pay?

Every month you will receive an invoice of your monthly membership fees and any additional charges for outside lab studies, medications, or equipment. You can pay online directly from the invoice or through the monthly auto-charge set up upon enrollment.

Do I have to pay every month even if I don’t see you?

Yes. Just like a gym membership, you pay every month whether you use our services or not. It's similar to having an attorney on retainer.

What if I need to be admitted to the Hospital?

You will still need insurance to cover any hospital visits you may need. We intentionally do not have admitting privileges to the hospitals so that our patients are not limited in their hospital selection. If you are admitted to any of the local hospitals, your physician can visit you in the hospital and will keep in contact with your admitting physician throughout your inpatient stay.

What if I need to go to the Emergency Room?

If you feel it is a life-threatening emergency, call 911. After that call us. We can help coordinate your care with the emergency physicians, check in if you are admitted to the hospital, and help coordinate follow-up care.

What about my medications?

Many medications we can order wholesale and fill cheaper than your local pharmacy. Those medications will be billed along with your monthly fee. If it's easier or cheaper you may continue to use your insurance at your local pharmacy as you always have. Think how convenient it could be to get cheaper medications in the same place at the same time as your appointment without waiting in line!

How often can I see you in a month?

As many times as needed.

Are you insurance?

No. Being a member of HFM alone will not satisfy the individual mandate of the ACA. However, it may qualify you for a higher deductible plan. Speak with your insurance professional to find out.

What insurance plans do you accept?

None!
